It’s oozing with Chinese culture so this is a great city to spend 18 weeks and make faster progression in Mandarin than you thought possible.

Our Semester program is similar to a university semester, but we boast smaller group classes meaning everyone gets the chance to speak, read, write and partake in learning Mandarin together.

Class sizes average just three people and never exceed six, so you can be sure that you will get a chance to speak, which is so important when learning Mandarin. As the semester program is a fixed 18 weeks the cost is hugely competitive and a great option for all ages.

Semester Program in Xi’an

Here’s the deal:

  • 18 week fixed Semester Program in Xi’an
  • Monday – Friday
  • Four hours of class per day
  • Small Group classes no bigger than six students
  • Average class size is three
  • All lessons taught by fully certified and qualified Mandarin teachers
  • Comfortable environment
  • Many students reach HSK3 level after one semester with LTL
  • HSK4 level after two semesters also feasible

The small class size, and the intensive nature of the course means it’s harder not to progress, but at the same time you still have to push hard to achieve HSK3/4 goals we mentioned above.

It doesn’t just happen by itself, you have to put in the hours and we give you the foundation for doing just that.

Our Semester program has fixed starting dates and they run for 18 weeks at a time. Prices for our Spring Semester and Fall Semester are the same.

Can absolute beginners join the Semester Program?

Yes we have plenty of beginners who are welcome to join the program.

We will make sure we find a class for you with the right level, so you are all in the same boat.

Why can you progress faster at LTL than at a university?

It’s all down to our small class sizes.

Scenario A – you are in a lecture theatre with 30-50 people. You are all listening to a tutor, taking notes and watching slideshows.

Scenario B – you are in a small classroom of just 3 students alongside your teacher. You all get the chance to read and speak out loud.

In which scenario do you think you’ll learn faster?

In Chinese it’s essential to talk early on, get the tones and pronunciation right, you can’t do that in a big lecture hall.

Is there much to do in Xi’an?

Yes, Xi’an is a sizeable city with lots going for it. There are so many things to do in Xi’an, you definitely won’t get bored.

We host weekly events with our students to give you an idea of the life here. Enjoy top class food, trips to museums or bars and spend time with your fellow LTL students.

Outside of this you can of course arrange you own activities with other students and friends, which most students like to do too.

Is this a program for youngsters?

No, just because we call it a Semester Program, that in no way means that it’s a program just for younger students.

In fact, most of our groups include a wide mix of nationalities and ages. A typical class of four might have an American, French, Swiss and Italian – all of different ages.

Anyone can apply for our Semester Program (unless your Chinese is too good of course)!
